Marseille détient un record. Pas celui des communautés ethniques ou religieuses, celui des êtres seuls parfois au sein de leur communauté. Faire un amas d'êtres seuls ne fait pas un ensemble.

À ce titre, la solitude devient plurielle. Quelques communicants (La maison de vente Damien Leclère, Jean-Yves Roux de la galerie Nasara et la Galerie du Tableau) ont entrepris une action commune pour mettre en valeur des artistes singuliers ayant vécu ou vivant à Marseille. Bien sûr, il y aura aussi d'autres artistes comme Charles Paris, Mathilde Poulvelari, Miguel Hernandez et de magnifiques anonymes...
L'exposition à la Galerie du Tableau ne constitue que l'annonce de trois jours de vente aux enchères chez Damien Leclère et d'une manifestation de Jean-Yves Roux, qui de longue date a défendu l'art brut et les sujets de l'enfermement, à l'espace Saint-Jacques.

Es importante reflexionar sobre el hecho de que en este populoso barrio El ABROJAL, donde las oportunidades no abundan y su gente corre de atrás a las pocas oportunidades de mejoras que se les presenta, con esta muestra...es la tercera de Antoni MIRÓ que se presenta en el. Esto dice bien de un espíritu generoso, superior y solidario que brinda la oportunidad de llegar a todos sus vecinos con su ARTE MAYOR, hecho no muy frecuente por estas costas. Los niños desde sus preguntas mostraban un interés importante por saber sobre Antoni y su obra, en particular una vez visto el documental sobre él y su Mas Sopalmo. Los caminos se van abriendo y a través de seres como él uno ve que es posible seguir la utopía de hacer del arte y la cultura un derecho natural ¨desde todos y para todos¨ .�

A comical conceptualist, a Sturgeon performance defies categorization. Accompanied by ridiculous costuming, pointed instructions and parables (gone awry), and even the occasional dirigible or two, these elements intertwine into space-defying interventions, which invariably involve a degree of audience participation. About: Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt describes himself as a composer of “experimental sunburnt soundscapes”. A phrase which calls to mind huge amounts of fiery, chaotic activity with sounds hurtling around, colliding with one another in the radioactive furnace of a star. All of that is here on ‘BUTTERFLY FLAPPING STRING THEORY’, but there are also moments of quiet, peaceful calm, frequently within the same piece.

Waves of rippling, coruscating distortion roll back to reveal a single emergent, insistent tone. Clanging noises build to create a wall of white noise. Long moments of silence and absence bracket some of the pieces. Small metallic clicks and scratches circle one another before coming together to create a pulsating drone. All of these things are present or hinted at in the short pieces which make up the first five tracks of this album. They then all finally come together in one deep, evocative wash of sound on the penultimate twenty three minute track ‘Pursuit of happiness’.

We are very happy to announce that the highly renowned experimental, free improvising musician Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt has joined the ranks of itsu jitsu artists with a fantastic digital download release entitled ‘BUTTERFLY FLAPPING STRING THEORY’.

The 6 track album will be released as a free digital download on Friday 9th September through Bandcamp and the Internet Archive on our usual 3.0 Creative Commons license.
