
Lily Islam is one of the leading, dedicated and popular singers of our country at present. She was grown up in music-oriented environment. Although her mother was a singer, but she never performed in the public occasion.
Lily Islam completed higher studies from Sangeet Bhaban in Santiniketan in Kolkata. She was born and brought up in Kolkata. In her early age, her music teacher was Toru Bondyopadhyay, a prominent Tagore singer. She went to Santiniketan for higher study where her gurus were- Kanika Banerjee, Nilima Sen, Ashesh Bondyopadhyay and Gora Sorbadhikary.
She proved herself equally successful in the field of music and dance. She was also trained in Bharatnatyam under Kalamandalum Shanker Narayan and Munipuri dance under Jitin Singh. She has performed in many dance dramas of Rabindranath Tagore.
She has a number of music albums titled “Anondo dhwani jagao,” “Hariye jaowa monti aamar,” “Bhalobashi bhalobashi,” “Je gaan bajeyey,” “Shurer Agun,” “Prothom kodom phool,” “Biraho modhur holo,” “Moner manush” and “Boner harin.”
Senior artist Mustafa Monwar, Professor Samarjit Roy Choudhury, sculptor Habiba Akther Papia, Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, artist Maksuda Iqbal Nipa will also attend the dinner.
Deputy Governor of the Bangladesh Bank, Mr. Ziaul H. Siddiqui and Mrs. Bilu Siddiqui will welcome the guests at Bank Bhaban.
