DeCordova shows support for Ai Weiwei

DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, Massachusetts, is joining museums, artists and politicians around the world calling for the release of celebrated Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, who was arrested by Chinese authorities on April 3. It took seven weeks for China to say he was being held for evading taxes, but critics of the Chi...nese government charge that his continuing detention is politically motivated.

Last week, DeCordova put up a large red banner on the front of the museum, reading “Free Ai Weiwei.” And it is handing out information at the front desk “to educate visitors and raise awareness of this international injustice.”
