Lia Perjovschi builds research platforms and institutions for intellectual resistance. After 2000, CAA, the Contemporary Art Archive later transformed into a centre for art analysis, was included into KM – Knowledge Museum. KM incorporates all the artist’s cumulative projects (globe collection, bags collection, the “multiples” archive) and her research practices (Subjective Art History, Mind Maps, Timelines) besides other objects purchased from various museum shops of all kinds, from all around the world.
Knowledge Museum is an institution and an interdisciplinary practice but for the moment the artist presents it as a plan or a presentation kit. The museum departments (body, earth, art, culture, knowledge, science and universe) display variable forms and spatial dispositions. The final goal is the actual construction of this museum and all the presentations, exhibitions or workshops organized in the meantime become intermediary stages in its creation.
Club ElectroPutere Craiova – a new pretext to discuss knowledge.
Dan Perjovschi combines caricature, drawing and graffiti into a critical discourse. He draws inspiration for his drawings from mass media and the thorough observation of everyday life. To put it simply, Perjovschi draws upon walls. His projects are transient and their fragility confers seriousness to his humorous drawings. Each drawing represents the synthesis of a new situation or complex mentalities and taken all together, they make up a panoramic view of local and global society at that particular moment in time. Site specific and time specific. The gadget technology, the lack of communication in a world suffused with mobile phones, the jeep and the skateboard, the mad cow disease or the avian flue, the rich people poorly intellectually equipped, the consumerist propaganda are but a few of the recurrent themes in all his projects. Their openness makes Perjovschi’s drawings relate to the public space and that is the reason for which they can easily fit the exterior of the museum and not its inside.

Brainstorming on life and profession
Motivational workshop with Lia and Dan Perjovschi
Thursday, October 20
Come up with an idea or a drawing related to what really bothers you or to what you would like to do.
We talk, we draw and we talk again; if you have questions we’ll find the answers together; who are you and what do you want to achieve in life? Are you at a loss, you don’t know what you choose? What should you embrace? Art or life? Career or creation? Subject or object? Etc.
There cannot be only one kind of drawing, there is no good or bad drawing, the content is more important than form, sincerity is more important than skill. We can all visually express an idea. Or we can discuss it. Bring along a pen, a felt pen and a couple of questions.
The first session will take place between 10.00 and 12.00, followed by lunch (bring a sandwich and water will be our treat) and then the second session from 13.00 to 16.00. And for those who crave for more (and who still have the force to go on and if we, too, have the force to go on) a bonus from 16.00 to 18.00.
Deadline for workshop registration: October 15, 2011 at the email address info@clubelectroputere.ro. Please, leave your name, age and phone number.
