Je constate que certains journalistes sont plus avisés que d'autres. J'ai eu l'heureuse surprise de dénicher cet article de Jacques Quentin qui parle de moi avec grande lucidité... Mes détracteurs apprécieront.

LES DESSOUS DE LA PHOTO DE RIMBAUD : IZARRIMBAUD ?

Elle lui ressemblait comme une fille peut ressembler à son père.

Avec la bonne foi, la sincérité de son âme entière, de son coeur franc (fatalement lucides), le public ne s'y était pas trompé. La France était convaincue !

Sauf que les tests ADN avaient rendu leur verdict, pétrifiant : désaccord génétique total et définitif entre la fille et son prétendu géniteur.

La douche froide.

Qui ne se souvient pas de cette douloureuse affaire Aurore Drossard, fille imaginaire de Montand ? La leçon, authentique cas d'école, doit nous inciter à adopter à l'avenir la plus extrême prudence dans ce genre d'information où la subjectivité peut brouiller les pistes les mieux balisées.

Or, avec le dernier avatar concernant Rimbaud, nous sommes dans un processus médiatico-hystérique exactement inverse : cette fois ce sont les "spécialistes" qui, enivrés de doctes fumées, se sont eux-mêmes convaincus. Et de quoi donc me demanderez-vous ? Du pire : la mine patibulaire d'un Rimbaud aux antipodes de sa légende esthétique.

La pilule à du mal à passer chez les vrais-faux admirateurs du poète de Charleville qui, avec ce bon sens inné caractérisant les profanes et les ignorants, doutent.

La découverte de la photo date de deux ans. Troublant : à la même époque un certain Izarra criait à qui voulait l'entendre -et nul ne semblait vouloir prêter sérieusement l'oreille à ses élucubrations- qu'il était l'auteur du "Rêve de Bismarck", un autre inestimable trésor rimbaldien sauvé des rebuts d'un bouquiniste de Charleville-Mézières. Décidément, le hasard facilite bien des choses dans l'environnement de cet énigmatique Izarra...

Mais revenons à la tête de Rimbaud. Les spécialistes dont le fameux Jean-Jaques Lefrère se sont basés sur quatre de ses photos (plus ou moins nettes) déjà connues et reconnues pour établir un nouveau dogme avec cette vertigineuse certitude propres aux exégètes de leur niveau élevés au pain blanchit. La farine universitaire a d'incontestables vertus de salubrité intellectuelle... Bref, c'est avec la même conviction, pour ne pas dire la même ferveur que le "Rêve de Bismarck" fut décrété authentique.

Rien n'est plus ressemblant à un portrait qu'un autre portrait, pour peu que le coeur s'emballe. On s'interrogera sur les méthodes employées par ces imprudents spécialistes cherchant à faire passer à la postérité le visage d'un parfait anonyme confondu avec Rimbaud sous le prétexte d'une enseigne d'hôtel en guise de (fausse) piste aux stars du Parnasse, de chasse aux mythes... Bertillonnage ? Identification judiciaire ? Tests ADN ? Les rieurs riront.

Les convictions pour le moins subjectives -autant dire hautement fantaisistes- de Jean-Jaques Lefrère et ses disciples sont une bonne gifle pour nous rappeler qu'à travers ce genre de révélation sensationnelle pleine de flou artistique lié à l'univers de Rimbaud, un Izarra peut toujours en cacher un autre.

Les érudits échaudés ajouteront : aujourd'hui plus qu'hier.

Méfiance donc.
