Through video artists either produce or reproduce pictures of a visual aspect by using forms and colours likewise traditional arts, such as painting. This year’s concept, Visualize Athens, invites you to experience a spectacular journey into the world of Digital Arts and New Media, inaugurating and utilising a 5.000m² building complex at the heart of the Historic centre of Athens, as well as the surrounding public spaces (Stoa Kourtaki, Ayias Irinis sq., Kolokotroni str.), thus creating a network of urban artistic interventions and with free admission for the first time. We are actively participating in the effort to revive the historic and commercial centre of Athens and we start by “visualising” the city through our own perspective, offering an impressive and multidimensional program to the public. After our Call for Entries, which recorded more than 2.000 entries from 69 countries, Athens Video Art Festival promises yet another amazing edition with 3 days of the best in digital creativity, cutiing edge technology and design and, of course, lots of fun until the wee hours!
